Wave of Forever
The golden sun dipped low on the horizon as Samira tightened her grip on Ayan’s hand. The sea breeze tangled her hair, and the scent of saltwater filled the air, mingling with the faint aroma of fried fish from nearby beachside stalls. This was Cox’s Bazar—an endless stretch of sand kissed by the waves, where the couple had chosen to begin their life together.
It was their second day on this honeymoon, but the magic of the place made it feel like they had just arrived. Ayan glanced at Samira and smiled, pulling her closer as they walked barefoot along the shoreline. “You know,” he began, “the locals believe the waves here carry blessings to those who listen closely.”
Samira tilted her head, curious. “Blessings?”
“Mm-hmm. They say if you whisper your wish to the waves, the sea will carry it to the heavens.”
Laughing softly, Samira leaned toward the water. “Alright, let’s see if it works.” Cupping her hands around her mouth, she whispered something inaudible and giggled, her face lighting up with childlike glee.
“What did you wish for?” Ayan asked, pretending to be nonchalant but unable to hide his grin.
“Not telling!” Samira teased, sticking out her tongue.
Their playful banter carried on until dusk turned to night. As they strolled back to their resort, the town came alive with twinkling lights and the sounds of lively chatter from tourists and locals alike.
The next morning, Ayan had a surprise planned. He led Samira to a small wooden boat waiting near the jetty. The fisherman steering the boat smiled warmly. “Ready for a secret adventure?” Ayan asked.
Samira raised an eyebrow but climbed in, intrigued. As the boat glided over the calm, azure waters, Ayan revealed their destination—a secluded spot near Inani Beach where the water shimmered like liquid gold. The moment they arrived, Ayan pulled out a small box from his pocket.
“Samira,” he began, his voice slightly trembling. “This trip, this moment, is more than just a honeymoon. It’s the beginning of every adventure I want to have with you.”
He opened the box to reveal a delicate silver bracelet adorned with a tiny seashell charm. Samira’s eyes welled up as she whispered, “It’s beautiful.”
“It’s a reminder,” Ayan continued, fastening it around her wrist, “that no matter where we go, we’ll always have the sea and each other.”
Samira threw her arms around him, their laughter mingling with the sound of the waves. The fisherman smiled, steering the boat gently away from the shore, giving the couple their private moment amidst nature’s beauty.
As the days of their trip unfolded, Cox’s Bazar became more than a destination—it became a chapter in their story, a memory etched forever in their hearts.
