Sundarban Carnival, 2014 on Sundarban Conservation

On 24th May, 2014, Rupantar Eco-tourism Limited (RET) successfully organized the Sundarban Carnival as a yearly event of “Conservation through Eco-tourism” programme. The carnival started with a colourful rally. More than 400 local people along with significant number of elite persons from different part of Khulna district participated in the rally.

3 Days and 2 Nights Package to Sundarban Voyage

DAY 1 - Board the boat and cruise through the forest
After arrival in Khulna our guide will receive you from your declared station Bus/Train or particular motel) and take you to the boat (M.B. Badaban) in early morning. After an introduction the boat will start cruise towards the south west. You can enjoy the local horizon daily life in the riverside villages during 3/4 hours of cruising until the boat will stop at Mongla and Chadpai for office formality and picking Armed Security Guard from forest office. Than the boat will be continue cruising to Sundarban. The voyage will take 7 hours to arrive deep jungle name Kachikhali. During this journey you will see the exclusive nature, birds and some other species. The boat will take place inside Kachi-Khali Jungle beside the forest station to stay first night.

DAY 2 - Explore the amazing biodiversity of Sundarban
Shortly after sunrise you will invite to explore the narrow creeks with a country boat, which will allow you a close look at the unique mangrove fauna & flora. This site seeing visit will take about 2 hour. Then after breakfast on the boat the voyage again starts towards down south to Kotka (The place of Tiger point, walking trail and Sea beach). Initially the sea beach visiting lunch will serve on the boat in time. During this leisurely day the guide will offer a variety of activities, including an easy trek to the pristine beach facing the Bay of Bengal or a hike through the mangroves trail and or you will enjoy volleyball, Frisbee, football etc. After dark at Katka the boat will stay beside the forest office. Or the boat will start its return journey to Khulna. There is an optional point Harbaria you can visit. If you want to go there then the boat will take place in front of Tambulbunia forest range office for stay overnight.

DAY 3 - Return journey to Khulna direct or via Harbaria (Optional)
On the way back to Khulna depends on the tide you will take a look Harbaria forest zone which is also a popular Royal Bengal Tigers compartment. It will take around 5/6 hour to visit this place including travel. Finally the boat will start back to Khulna after lunch and anchor to the Rupsha Ghat by dawn.

After departure from the boat you can explore the Khulna city or nearby market places or make another visit schedule to travel Bagerhat or Shatkhira.

The Sundarban reserve forest is a unique place of natural beauty, panoramic landscape and ecological paradigm, it's conservation is indispensable in every sense. It is also resourceful for the livelihood of a vast community living in vicinity.
