What’s actually working in social media marketing right now?
Hey everyone,
Here’s what I’ve noticed from my recent tests:
I’ve been in social media marketing for a while now, mostly working with small businesses, influencers, and service providers. Lately, things have definitely felt more challenging, especially with all the platform changes earlier this year.
Carousel posts with tips or valuable info are getting more saves and shares
Reels are unpredictable — sometimes great reach, other times flat
Hashtags don’t seem to have much impact anymore
Stories with polls or questions still spark solid engagement
Follow/unfollow and mass DMs are basically ineffective now
Paid ads feel pricier and less efficient than before
It seems like long-term growth is less about quick wins and more about building a genuine community and brand presence.
