রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) এই রাতের ফজিলত সম্পর্কে উম্মতকে সতর্ক করেছেন যাতে কেউ এটি হাতছাড়া না করে।

"যে ব্যক্তি ঈমানের সাথে সওয়াব লাভের আশায় লাইলাতুল কদরের রাত জেগে ইবাদত করবে, তার পূর্বের সকল গুনাহ ক্ষমা করে দেওয়া হবে।" (সহিহ বুখারি: ১৯০১, সহিহ মুসলিম: ৭৬০)

কদরের রাত কবে?
নির্দিষ্ট করে কোনো তারিখ বলা না হলেও, রাসুল (সা.) শেষ দশ দিনের বিজোড় রাতগুলোতে এটি খুঁজতে বলেছেন।

বিজোড় রাতে সন্ধান: "তোমরা রমজানের শেষ দশ দিনের বিজোড় রাতগুলোতে লাইলাতুল কদর অনুসন্ধান করো।" (সহিহ বুখারি: ২০১৭)

শেষ সাত দিনে: "যে ব্যক্তি লাইলাতুল কদর খুঁজতে চায়, সে যেন রমজানের শেষ সাত রাতে তা খোঁজে।" (সহিহ বুখারি: ২০১৬, সহিহ মুসলিম: ১১৬৫)

লাইলাতুল কদরের বিশেষ দোয়া
হযরত আয়েশা (রা.) একবার রাসুল (সা.)-কে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিলেন, "হে আল্লাহর রাসুল! আমি যদি বুঝতে পারি যে আজ কদরের রাত, তবে আমি কোন দোয়াটি পড়ব?"

তখন রাসুল (সা.) তাঁকে এই দোয়াটি শিখিয়েছিলেন:

আরবি: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
উচ্চারণ: আল্লাহুম্মা ইন্নাকা আফুউন, তুহিব্বুল আফওয়া ফাফু আন্নী।
অনুবাদ: "হে আল্লাহ! নিশ্চয়ই আপনি ক্ষমাশীল, আপনি ক্ষমা করতে ভালোবাসেন। অতএব, আমাকে ক্ষমা করে দিন।" (তিরমিজি: ৩৫১৩)
