🏛️ ভাগ্যকুল জমিদার বাড়ি ও বিক্রমপুর জাদুঘর — ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্যের এক অনন্য ঠিকানা||
মুন্সীগঞ্জ জেলার শ্রীনগর উপজেলার ভাগ্যকুল গ্রামে অবস্থিত ভাগ্যকুল জমিদার বাড়ি বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম ঐতিহাসিক জমিদার প্রাসাদ। আনুমানিক ১৯০০ সালের দিকে জমিদার যদুনাথ রায় এই প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করেন। তিনি ছিলেন একজন সফল ব্যবসায়ী; বরিশাল থেকে সুপারি, লবণ ও শাড়ি সংগ্রহ করে কলকাতা ও মুর্শিদাবাদে ব্যবসা পরিচালনা করতেন।
যদুনাথ রায়ের পাঁচ সন্তানের জন্য পর্যায়ক্রমে আরও চারটি আলাদা বাড়ি নির্মাণ করা হয়, যা বর্তমানে কোকিলপেয়ারি জমিদার বাড়ি, জজ বাড়ি এবং উকিল বাড়ি নামে পরিচিত। মূল প্রাসাদটি তিনি তার ছোট ছেলে নবকুমার রায়কে দিয়ে যান।
এই জমিদার পরিবার ব্রিটিশ আমলে পূর্ব বাংলার অন্যতম ধনী ও শিক্ষিত পরিবার হিসেবে পরিচিত ছিল। হরলাল রায়, রাজা শ্রীনাথ রায় ও প্রিয়নাথ রায় তাঁদের সমাজসেবা ও কর্মযজ্ঞের স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ ব্রিটিশ সরকারের কাছ থেকে "রাজা" উপাধি লাভ করেন। এছাড়া তাদের মালিকানাধীন The East Bengal River Steamer নামে একটি স্টিমার কোম্পানি ১৯০৭ সালে নৌপরিবহন ব্যবসায় যুক্ত হয়েছিল।
স্থাপত্যের দিক থেকে ভাগ্যকুল জমিদার বাড়ির প্রতিটি ভবনই গ্রীক স্থাপত্যশৈলীর আদলে নির্মিত। প্রাসাদের সৌন্দর্য বাড়াতে নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিল মন্দির, পুকুর ও নান্দনিক বাগান। তবে পদ্মা নদীর ভাঙন এবং দীর্ঘদিনের অযত্ন-অবহেলায় আজ সেই জৌলুসের অনেকটাই হারিয়ে গেছে। তবুও প্রধান ভবনটি এখনও অতীতের গৌরবের সাক্ষী হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।

বিক্রমপুরের হাজার বছরের ইতিহাস, প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক নিদর্শন, লোকজ সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্য সংরক্ষণের উদ্দেশ্যে অগ্রসর বিক্রমপুর ফাউন্ডেশন উত্তর বালাসুরে যদুনাথ রায়ের পরিত্যক্ত বাড়ির স্থানে প্রতিষ্ঠা করে বিক্রমপুর জাদুঘর।
২০১০ সালের ২৯ মে জাদুঘরের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করা হয় এবং সরকারি অর্থায়ন ও পৃষ্ঠপোষকতায় ২০১৪ সালে প্রায় সাড়ে ১৩ একর জায়গাজুড়ে জাদুঘর ও পান্থশালা নির্মিত হয়।
এখানে মোট ৭টি গ্যালারিতে বিক্রমপুরের ইতিহাস, প্রাচীন মানচিত্র, প্রত্নবস্তু, টেরাকোটা, ভাস্কর্য এবং হাজার বছরের ঐতিহ্যের অমূল্য নিদর্শন সংরক্ষিত রয়েছে। নিচতলার বাম পাশের গ্যালারিটি "যদুনাথ রায় গ্যালারি", যেখানে বিক্রমপুরের প্রাচীন মানচিত্র প্রদর্শিত হয়।
প্রখ্যাত সাহিত্যিক ড. হুমায়ুন আজাদ তাঁর "ফুলের গন্ধে ঘুম আসে না" গ্রন্থে এই স্থানকে অভিহিত করেছিলেন—
"বিলের ধারে প্যারিস শহর"।
ইতিহাস, স্থাপত্য ও সংস্কৃতিপ্রেমীদের জন্য ভাগ্যকুল জমিদার বাড়ি এবং বিক্রমপুর জাদুঘর শুধু একটি দর্শনীয় স্থান নয়; এটি বিক্রমপুরের হাজার বছরের ঐতিহ্যকে এক ছাদের নিচে ধারণ করে রাখা এক জীবন্ত সংগ্রহশালা।🧡

Located in Bhagyakul village of Srinagar Upazila, Munshiganj District, the Bhagyakul Zamindar House is one of Bangladesh's remarkable historical estates. It was established around 1900 by Zamindar Jadunath Roy, a successful businessman who traded betel nuts, salt, and sarees from Barishal to Kolkata and Murshidabad.
Jadunath Roy had five sons, and he later built four additional residences for them. Today, these are known as the Kokilpeyari Zamindar House, Judge House, and Lawyer House, while the main palace was inherited by his youngest son, Nabakumar Roy.
During the British era, the Bhagyakul Zamindar family was regarded as one of the wealthiest and most educated families in Bengal. Notable members such as Harlal Roy, Raja Srinath Roy, and Priyanath Roy were honored with the title of "Raja" by the British government for their social contributions and public service. The family also owned The East Bengal River Steamer, a river transport company that began operations in 1907.
Architecturally, the estate reflects Greek-inspired design, featuring elegant buildings, temples, ponds, and landscaped gardens that once enhanced its grandeur. However, due to the erosion of the Padma River and years of neglect, much of the estate has been lost. Despite this, the main palace still stands as a proud symbol of its glorious past.

To preserve the rich history, archaeology, folk traditions, culture, and heritage of ancient Bikrampur, the Agrosor Bikrampur Foundation established the Bikrampur Museum on the site of Jadunath Roy's abandoned residence in North Balasur.
The foundation stone of the museum was laid on 29 May 2010, and with government funding and support, the museum complex and guest house were completed in 2014, covering approximately 13.5 acres.
The museum houses seven galleries, showcasing ancient maps of Bikrampur, archaeological artifacts, terracotta pieces, stone and wooden sculptures, and numerous invaluable historical treasures. The gallery on the left side of the ground floor is named the "Jadunath Roy Gallery", where visitors can explore the ancient map of Bikrampur.
Renowned Bangladeshi writer Dr. Humayun Azad, in his book "Flowers Don't Let Me Sleep with Their Fragrance", famously described this place as:
