Online travel platform Flight Expert is down, and its management is reportedly on the run.
The CEO of Flight Expert Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem, along with his father MA Rashid Shah Shamrat, the Chairman of its parent company Makkah Group, has fled to Canada, as per sources.
Flight Expert reportedly owes crores of taka to customers, B2B agents, and banks of the country. The organization also owes the Interational Air Transport Association (IATA) huge sums of money for its services and benefits--all of which are now stuck following the embezzlement by the platform's management.
Customers and B2B agents have been expressing their outrage on social media after finding Flight Expert’s portal is down since this morning, and its management has flown abroad embezzling huge amounts of their money.
It may be mentioned here that Flight Expert was established in 2016. Over the years, it became a full-fledged online travel agency, offering customers airline tickets, hotel accommodation, travel packages, and visa support, among others.
This is not the first time an online travel agency’s (OTA) management has fled the country with stakeholder’s money, as other OTAs like Haltrip and 24tkt.com had done the same earlier.
