Explore one of the remarkable examples of early Muslim architecture in Bengal – the Darasbari Mosque.
The Darasbari Mosque, located between the Choto Sona Mosque and the Kotowali Gate near Omarpur in Shibganj Upazila, Chapainawabganj district, stands as a significant relic of Bengal's early Islamic architectural heritage.

History:
The word "Daras" means "lesson" or "study." It is believed that there was once a madrasa adjacent to the mosque. During historical excavations, an Arabic inscription discovered by Munshi Elahi Bakhsh (measuring 11 feet 3 inches in length and 2 feet 1 inch in width) revealed that the mosque was built in 1479 AD (Hijri year 884) by the order of Sultan Shamsuddin Yusuf Shah during his reign.
