The Voice of our globe can only be heard, by touching the land: foot to earth.

Through hills and valleys I would go,
desert heat or mountain's cold.

The reward: A new dimension in the terrain.

Allerliefste vrienden, kennissen en al wie Oli lief heeft. Onze super Oli is gisteren overleden aan een hartaanval op de plantage waar hij werkte in Australië. Het spijt me dit op deze manier mee te delen maar ik weet niet hoe anders ALLE vrienden die Oli in zijn veel te korte leven gemaakt heeft te kunnen bereiken. We zullen zijn groot & gouden hart allemaal ongelofelijk missen. Wie er behoefte aan heeft mag altijd langskomen voor een lach en een traan op de Frilinglei 33 te Brasschaat. Ahoi mateys!

As most of you probably discovered by now, the four of us arrived in Shanghai exactly thirteen months after our departure from Brasschaat's town square on July 2, 2016.

It's been one hell of a ride, more than 18000 km far with much highs and not too many lows.
China's great firewall prevented us from keeping the blog up to date, but the end will surely be written soon.

For anyone who wonders what this country is like: just come and check it out, like Jean-Marc Beaumont did.

Special thanks to all our visitors and all the people who were brave enough to invite 4 rugged, bearded strangers in their homes. To everyone else we met on the road; until the next!

'Sup ladies & gentlemen!

The Silk Road Cyclers are reunited once again, and in two days we will start cycling the 700 kilometers towards the Chinese border.

The Shanghai afterparty is planned somewhere between August 10-20 so make sure to save the date!

Below you can see our route from Belgium to Kyrgyzstan, 13.450 kilometers of wanderlust (cycling) and 11 months of wanderlust (adventure).
