ENQA disseminates information, experiences and good practices in the field of QA in HE to European QA agencies, public authorities and HEIs.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is an umbrella organisation which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organisations. The Association aims to maintain and enhance the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a majo

r driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries. ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.

☑️ This week, The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) has hosted a progress visit.

Progress visits aim to generate a stronger, enhancement-oriented dialogue, in order to go beyond the compliance-focused review site visit. Focused on the agency’s specific needs and priorities, progress visits provide an opportunity for an in-depth external review on key development areas, helping agencies to strategically plan their future work.

ENQA congratulates the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA) on the occasion of its 25th anniversary! ✨

The anniversary event in Split (Croatia) was attended by Cristina Ghitulica, who addressed participants both in her capacity as ENQA President and as a former President of CEENQA.

We would also like to congratulate Simona Lache on her election as the new President of CEENQA!

☑️ Last week, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR, Kazakhstan) hosted a site visit for an ENQA-coordinated external review.

The principal aim of ENQA Agency Reviews is to assess an agency’s compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and to support it in its efforts to review and enhance its work. 📈

This week, the ENQA workshop on strategic communications at QA agencies has taken place in Oslo (Norway), hosted by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NOKUT).

🗨️ ✍ Participants have discussed how QA agencies communicate with their stakeholders and the general public, shared insights into their own strategies, and identified good practices.

☑️ This week, the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HEA) has hosted a site visit for an ENQA-coordinated external review.

ENQA Agency Reviews offer a process to underpin trust in quality assurance and the quality of higher education internationally and to support and further legitimise the agency in its operating context. The ESG form the framework for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and serve as the reference for ENQA Agency Reviews. 📑

This week, ENQA has taken part in the 33rd Annual Joint Meeting of the ENIC and NARIC Networks in Athens (Greece).

🗨 ENQA Director, Anna Gover, has presented the ESG revision, and followed discussions on latest policy and practice developments in recognition of qualifications.

☑️ Last week, the Icelandic Agency for Quality Assurance (IAQA) hosted a site visit for an ENQA-coordinated external review.

The review is an evidence-based process carried out by independent experts. 🔎 Each review consists of a self-assessment by the agency, a site visit by a team of reviewers representing different stakeholders, a written report, and a follow-up process including a progress visit.
