THE CORVIN CASTLE. The beautiful Corvin Castle can be found in Hunedoara, in the Transylvania region of Romania. This Gothic-Renaissance masterpiece was commissioned by John Hunyadi in 1446, and it was meant to replace an already existing keep that was built by Charles I of Hungary on the same site. The original Corvin Castle was built in the Gothic style, but it did feature a few Renaissance design elements as well.
The building served as John Hunyadi’s home but was also used extensively for defensive purposes, which is why it gradually received multiple towers and extra fortifications.
The present version of the Corvin Castle is actually the result of a successful restoration. Due to its incredible history and long lifespan, this majestic building is still shrouded in mystery and legend to this day. #румыния #трансильвания

BUCOVINA AND PAINTED MONASTERIES.Bucovina is a land of spellbinding natural scenery, villages suspended in time and fascinating centuries-old traditions that have been passed down from one generation to the next. And although the main attractions here are the magnificent UNESCO-listed painted monasteries, this place is worth a visit for its beauty alone.
Situated in northeastern Romania, the Painted Monasteries of Bucovina consists of a stunning collection of Byzantine jewels adorned with exquisite 15th and 16th century frescoes that depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments. Due to their uniqueness, authenticity, exceptional artistic value and gorgeous surroundings, most of them have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as “masterpieces of mural art”.
Among the best-preserved are Sucevita, Probota, Patrauti, Moldovita, Humor, Arbore, the Church of St. George and the Monastery of Voronet, famous worldwide for its inimitable shade of blue (Voronet Blue). # sucevita #румыния

SKI RESORT – the newly inaugurated ski resort in Romania, the greatest and the most modern, was opened in 2012. In the presentation leaflets you will encounter it as Vidra Resort, Transalpina Ski Resort or Voineasa Resort; however, the last two do not realistically describe the sightseeing objective. Both Voineasa Resort and the high-altitude highway – Transalpina – are significantly farther away from the ski trails.
Location and general information: the trails are 9 km long at the moment, but they are in continuous expansion. The altitude of the lower part is over 1350 m, and the upper one reaches up 1800 m. The snow last here about 4-5 months a year. #румыния

SINAIA. Known as the The Pearl of the Carpathians, Sinaia is located on Prahova Valley, in Bucegi Mountains. It's a sensational place to visit for skiing and excursions. Sinaia has palaces, big hotels with swimming pools and restaurants, cable-cars and chair lifts. Is one of the finest mountain resorts in Europe being spectacular by nature and history. Visit Royal Peles Castle built in 1870, Pelisor Castle and Foisor Castle and park, the Casino Palace and 16th Century Sinaia Monastery, The Royal Railway Station (where annually stops The Orient Express). . The famous Baile Felix baths are located in the western region of Romania, a few kilometers from the major town Oradea.
