There are a lot of reasons to visit Saint Lucia in October, but this might be one of the best. 🇱🇨

October is Creole Heritage Month, when communities across the island celebrate Saint Lucian Creole culture through food, music, dance, language, traditional dress, storytelling + gatherings.

And this is exactly the kind of thing I love finding when I travel. The beaches will always be beautiful. The Pitons aren’t going anywhere. But getting to experience a place while its people are celebrating the traditions, food + culture that belong to them? That’s the good stuff.

The month leads up to Jounen Kwéyòl (Creole Day) on the last Sunday of October—one big celebration of everything that makes Saint Lucia distinctly Saint Lucian.
