Freshwater's James Metcalfe has completed an extraordinary 711-mile walk to Germany after 55 days on the road, raising more than £8,000 for 2 charities close to his heart. Day 55: 16.6 miles from Altenstein to the end point, Coburg. We left the route slightly today to visit a lovely historical town called SeBlach, after a quick bite to eat we headed to our end location of coburg while talking about how I felt during the walk. No words will truly tell you how I felt as I walked into Coburg and the market square with a group gathered under an arch waiting for my arrival. Round Table 151 Coburg were amazing hosts, with a rope cutting, interview and visit to the mayors balcony. An absolutely incredible day. I am very tired from the walk but also the emotions.

So that’s it 711miles walked from the Isle of Wight to Coburg in Germany. It’s been one of the hardest things I have done in my life but an achievement that I am so proud of. A lovely welcome into the market square, with so many people.
