🌍🦌 Hunting is Conservation 🌿
👉 That’s why we say: without hunters, there would be less wildlife and less wild land. Hunting is often misunderstood, but its role in conservation is undeniable. Here’s why:
✅ Wildlife management – Regulated hunting keeps populations in balance, preventing overpopulation, starvation, and damage to habitats.
✅ Funding – Hunters finance most conservation through license fees, permits, local funds and special taxes. In Europe, hundreds of millions, in the US this adds up to more than $1 billion each year; .
✅ Habitat restoration – Hunting organisations restore wetlands, and maintain habitats that benefit thousands of species – far beyond just game animals.
✅ Controlling invasive species & disease – Hunters play a critical role in stopping the spread of African Swine Fever in wild boar, managing predators where needed, and protecting biodiversity.
✅ Community engagement – Hunting connects people with nature and builds public support for conservation across both rural and urban
