Living abroad as an expat isn't always rainbows and butterflies, but in Jocelyn's opinion..... it's still better than staying "stuck" in the (boring) comfort zone! โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

She often gets asked what she misses most about back home, and since her youngest daughter Azalea was born in Costa Rica she would definitely say that Family is the #1 thing she misses from back home. Due to the global situation, she hasn't been able to see her grandparents in over 2 years. They've never even met Azalea in person! (thankful for technology!) โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

The seasons are nice too...(Costa Rica doesn't have the "normal" 4 seasons like Canada does)... and snow in moderation, but she'd take sunshine and a bathing suit over layers and freezing cold any day. โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

On a positive note - her now life partner is Costa Rican which makes expat living a *little* simpler, especially because she is still working on her spanish, BUT! navigating parenting with a person that has grown up with cultural differences adds an extra interesting element. โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ
