This fiery pepper reaches 200,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), placing it firmly among the seriously hot chilies of the world. Although proudly Bulgarian in origin, it belongs to a chili pepper family with Caribbean roots—known for intense heat and a distinctive citrus aroma when cut.

Bulgarian Spirit was created by a local farmer driven by curiosity and passion, with the goal of developing a truly Bulgarian chili variety. By carefully crossing different pepper types over several years, he succeeded in crafting a stable, unique cultivar that combines power, aroma, and identity.

🏅 Exciting news! Balkan Pro Travel (Bulgaria) has received the Travelife Partner level award, recognising the company's long-term efforts in sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Balkan Pro Travel complies with more than 100 criteria related to an operator’s office management, product range, international business partners, and customer information. The Travelife Partner level standard covers the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights, and labour relations.

Mr Naut Kusters, manager of Travelife for Tour Operators, said, “I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operator sector is gaining momentum. The Partner award for Balkan Pro Travel will inspire other companies in Bulgaria to follow the same path.”

Travelife is the leading international sustainability certification for the travel sector. More than 35 national travel associations promote the scheme to their members, including ABTA (UK), ANVR (NL), PATA (Asia), FTT (South Africa), SMAL (Finland), UHPA (Croatia), JARTA (Japan), APAVT (Portugal), and more.
