The Golden Mask from the Svetitsa Mound is one of the most remarkable archaeological discoveries in Bulgaria. Unearthed in 2004 near Shipka in the Valley of the Thracian Kings, the life-sized funerary mask is crafted from nearly pure gold and dates to the late 5th century BC. It is believed to have belonged to a powerful Thracian ruler or noble, possibly connected to King Teres I. The mask is a unique masterpiece of Thracian art and provides valuable insight into the burial customs, beliefs, and craftsmanship of ancient Thrace.
