We had another blissful day visiting Bachkovo monastery and hiking the Waterfalls canyon in Rhodope mountains. Got away from the summer heat in Plovdiv and also had a tasty lunch in one of the best local restaurants.

It has been a bliss, visiting The Buzludzha monument, The Thracian tomb which is also a UNESCO world heritage site and the Museum of the Roses in the heart of the Rose valley, Kazanlak. And also a great pleasure to have a day of relaxed travel with our guests from Poland!

Sarah requested a tour to Buzludzha and Shipka monument. We warned her there will be plenty of snow up there, and she replied: No problem at all, I actually think it’s really cool!
Well, it really was cool! Although we couldn't see anything from the Buzludzha monument, even though we went quite close. The weather conditions did not allow for more, but the journey was totally worth it! Apart from Shipka monument, we visited also a couple of Thracian tombs in the Rose valley. One of which, the Kazanlak tomb enlisted in the UNESCO world heritage sites.

We were contemplating a long time at that point. This was the finale of our 3 days spent in the Rhodope mountains. It was hard to move away from there and continue our journey to its end.
