Sometimes Bulgaria does not need any filters. 🌈

Just the sound of seagulls, the sea breeze, a quiet walk by the coast and a rainbow appearing at exactly the right moment.

One of those simple moments that make you stop for a second and remember why the Bulgarian seaside feels so special.

On May 24th, Bulgaria celebrates not just culture and education, but the Bulgarian alphabet itself — Cyrillic. 🇧🇬

More than 1,100 years ago, Bulgaria became the center from which Slavic literacy and culture spread to millions of people.
It was in Bulgaria, within the Preslav and Ohrid Literary Schools, that the Cyrillic alphabet was developed and began its widespread expansion.

From Bulgaria, Cyrillic later spread to:

Russia
Ukraine
Belarus
Serbia
North Macedonia
and many other nations.

Today, more than 250 million people around the world use the Cyrillic alphabet.

And when Bulgaria joined the European Union in 2007, Cyrillic officially became the EU’s third alphabet — after Latin and Greek.

“We too have given something to the world.” 🇧🇬📚
