There are only a few monuments and buildings in the world made of quartzite as a construction material. One of them is the Mother Bulgaria Pantheon near the village of Gurgulyat, Bulgaria. 🇧🇬☀️
The Pantheon was built in 1985 in memory of the Bulgarian solders who died for the victory in the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885.

Happy Friday, let’s celebrate it with a piece of Garash cake. 🎊
Garash (in Bulgarian: гараш) is a chocolate cake from the Bulgarian cuisine. It was created by the Austro-Hungarian Kosta Garash in 1885, in Ruse, Bulgaria. Kosta Garash managed the grand hotel “Islah Hane”, which was located next to the residence of the Bulgarian king. And the famous “Garash” cake was created for high-ranking receptions.
Garash cake has no wheat flour used in the recipe. The cake became very popular and available to the public in the second half of the XX century.
