The 9-day dragonfly tour in Southern Bulgaria ended more than successfully with 53 species of dragonflies, 120 butterflies, 50 species of moths, 100 species of birds, and many more interesting species of flora and fauna from Southeastern Europe!!!
Due to the cold spring, some dragonfly species have not yet hatched, and we finished with one species less than the tour record (54 species), but with 2 new species - Vagrant Emperor (Anax ephippiger) and Common Spreadwing (Lestes sponsa). We also managed to see two of the rarest and most endangered species in Europe - Dark Spreadwing (Lestes macrostigma) and Spotted Darter (Sympetrum depressiusculum), which are also not easy to find. We didn't miss any of the 4 Goldenrings (Cordulegaster) species found in Bulgaria. More soon!
