We assisted this weekend at the soft opening of first lodge in Beni - RDC. This to help train the staff while the last rooms are getting finished.

Preparing for the Virunga park to reopen once security is restored, Ishango Lodge will become our base for hikes in the Rwenzori mountains, Congolese side of the border.

The pool has been build in the bin of an old truck, there is already sauna, steambath,... while the massage tables and jaccuzi are on their way.

Mugaruka is wondering where those funny looking tourists went that came to visit the group once in a while. So why not go and look for them at Kahuzi Biega HQ... Maybe they are hiding out here.

The gorillas of Congo are waiting for you to come back to visit them. The proceedings of the gorilla permits are used to try to protect them and the parc.

Uganda is opening back for tourism ! Starting from the 1th of October 2020 Entebbe Airport will open again for passenger flights.

Incoming passenger will need to present a negative PCR test (taken 72 hours before travelling) and will be duly tested again in the airport.

According to the information we have now, no obligatory quarantaine won't be necessary any more. Groups can go on safari as they wish - respecting other regulations (not mixing with the local population, respecting curfew,...) Only 50 passengers per incoming flight will be allowed in this first phase.

Brussels Airlines will fly on Wednesday and Saturday according to the proposed program (SN 467 / SN 471) Other flight opportunities are with Kenya Airways, Ethiopian, KLM and R wandair.

This first phase of reopening Entebbe Airport will be for 3 months. We hope that after that the situation will normalise more.

So ... karibu !

Currently Uganda Tourism Board is organising inspections of the tourism operating enterprises in Uganda. We fully support this since from the start we have aimed to be a professional as possible. Our operating licence isn't just a piece of paper to us. We are glad to share that we were audited and inspected by UTB and have been successfully inspected!
