On behalf of our client, we seek a: Marine Detailer
The tasks and responsibilities of the Marine Detailer include but are not limited to:
οΆ Power washing and acid washing boats as they arrive in the yard.
οΆ Painting bottoms of boats as they arrive in the yard.
οΆ Removal of oxidation and waxing sides/topsides of boats
οΆ Internal detailed cleaning of boats as requests arises from customers.
οΆ Canvas and upholstery treatments for mold/mildew and sun damage
οΆ Gelcoat and fiberglass repair of a vessel
οΆ Polishing and treating stainless steel
οΆ Inspection of boats for damage and defects to be reported directly to the service manager.
οΆ Inspection of safety equipment to ensure it is not expired or damaged.
οΆ Management of costs and labor when on a job for a customer
οΆ Use and understand new products as they come into PW Marine
οΆ On occasion, the detailer may be asked to work weekends and/or conduct tasks outside of the description above.
Requirements:
οΆ Experience with a high-speed rotary buffer
οΆ Experience with various waxes, paints, and priming components
οΆ The ability to paint new bottoms from scratch β can be learned on the job
οΆ Experience with gel coats, fiberglass, and boat systems.
οΆ High attention to detail
οΆ Able to work in all outdoor elements, on the water or in the yard.
οΆ Good time and expense management skills
οΆ While performing duties of the job, the employee will be required to reach with arms and hands, bend, and stoop. Must be physically able.
οΆ Must work well with other team members, technicians, service manager, and retail staff.
οΆ Experience in operating and handling a boat is preferred.
