Rising Son Cruises Rising Son Cruises offers the ultimate tour boat experience. Both of our catamarans come fully equip Rising Son II was built in Cape Town, South Africa in 1999.

One of Alex Simonis best day sail designs to date, the catamaran has sailed tens of thousands of miles on open ocean. She is 58ft long, 30ft wide, 22 tonnes, and can sail in double digits with ease. Our catamaran makes her home in Bermuda. We work with all the major cruise lines that visit Bermuda, but if you can't find our tours through the cruise line, feel free to contact us directly. The Face of Rising Son

Steve Smith, AKA ‘Captain Squid’ was born and raised in Bermuda. He originally worked on the Rising Son in his teenage years before purchasing Rising Son in 2013.

He had to quickly learn all the inner workings of the boating industry and more importantly the inner workings of the boat itself. With a strong work ethic, a passion for working on the water and little help from his friends, he was able to take the helm and operate one of the most successful charters in the industry.

He carries his charm, wit, and humor into his tours, leaving his customers with a smile and great memories. He’s a wealth of crazy stories so be sure to have a chat with him when you come on board!
