Good morning Bermuda!

Sunshine Starts the DayHigh pressure continues to keep Bermuda under mostly settled skies, making for a bright and pleasant morning with plenty of sunshine and just a few passing clouds. Light winds may become variable at times through the day.

The fair weather doesn't last forever however. A weak trough and approaching front may squeeze out a few showers late tonight into early Monday, with another chance of brief showers Monday night before high pressure starts to take control on Tuesday.

Temperatures are settling back to seasonal norms, bringing comfortable early-summer conditions. Meanwhile, those calm seas will gradually build as we move into the first half of the week, though conditions remain generally favourable.

In Short: A beautiful sunny day ahead, a few passing showers possible around Monday, then sunshine and settled weather return by Tuesday.

I always enjoy driving down Knapton Hill. There's something captivating about following that yellow centre line as it winds down a series of steep slopes toward the clear waters of Harrington Sound and the colourful houses surrounding Devil's Hole. It's one of those Bermuda views that never gets old.

Knapton Hill takes its name from John Knapton, one of Bermuda's most accomplished 17th-century silversmiths.
In 1657, Knapton purchased land on the hill and built the grand Knapton House, a mansion that still commands the summit today. His craftsmanship was renowned throughout Bermuda, with pieces such as an elegant silver tankard made for the Hubbard family of nearby Paynters Vale.
While John Knapton's legacy is one of skill and success, his son Moses became famous for rather different reasons—earning several appearances before Bermuda's courts, including one colourful dispute involving a chisel and an unfortunate neighbour!

Bermuda's roads and hills often tell stories far richer than their names suggest. Knapton Hill is certainly one of them.

Good morning Bermuda!

Sunshine Returns to Wrap Up the Week

The weather is beginning to settle as low pressure drifts northward and a lingering frontal boundary stalls to our east. A stray shower may still pass nearby, but these will become fewer and farther between as the day progresses. Winds will continue to ease, allowing brighter skies and increasing sunshine to take over.

Looking ahead, high pressure builds across the area this weekend, bringing a return to dry, sunny weather along with steadily warming temperatures. At sea, moderate conditions will gradually improve, with waters becoming smooth to slight as we head into the weekend.

In short: Expect improving weather today, plenty of sunshine this weekend, warmer temperatures, and calmer seas

The Garden Fireworks.

One of the highlights in Bermuda's landscape right now is the stunning Agapanthus, or African Lily (Agapanthus africanus). Everywhere you look, its vibrant purple blooms are bursting into flower.

It's not known exactly when Agapanthus first arrived in Bermuda, but it was definitely here by 1833, as it was mentioned in O.A. Reade's book Plants of Bermuda.

Perfectly suited to Bermuda's climate, Agapanthus requires very little attention, thrives through the heat and dry spells of summer, and multiplies readily, making it easy to divide and replant throughout the garden. And when it flowers, it puts on a spectacular display, reminding us of a bang of fireworks.

We captured these photographs at the Botanical Gardens, where the Agapanthus are currently at their peak. If you're visiting, keep an eye out for them - although, truthfully, you won't need to look very hard. Right now, they're definitely the stars of the show.

Good morning Bermuda!
June 4, 2026

June continues to make a splash...

The exceptionally wet start to June carries on as a lingering area of low pressure to our west continues to bring light showers, rain, and occasional high gusts across the island.

Some downpours could be heavy at times, with visibility dropping quickly in rain and a slight chance of thunder mixed in. Keep the umbrella handy and expect conditions to change from one moment to the next.

Here comes the change..... As the low pressure system drifts away later today, high pressure will begin building into the area, bringing brighter skies and more settled weather as we head into the weekend.

For mariners, seas will briefly build from moderate to rough later today before gradually easing tomorrow, and a Small Craft Warning is in effect.

And before we complain too much about all the rain, just remember that July and August are waiting in the wings. A few weeks from now, when the sun is blazing and the lawns are turning brown, we'll probably be grateful for every drop that's falling today.

West-northwesterly 8 to 12 knots, shifting direction at times before settling south-southwesterly and increasing 18 to 24 knots with gusts to 35 to 40 knots possible in heavier showers

This photograph is a blip of Hamilton.

A busy street lined with life and movement.
Two-hundred-year-old buildings nestled between modern offices. A kaleidoscope of colours around every corner. And just beyond the bustle, a tall ship rests quietly alongside the docks.

Hamilton is more than a destination - It's a collection of details and contrasts.

To truly see it, slow down and look around... Let the little city reveal itself one corner at a time.
