Now THIS is a real aeroplane!

This is a photo of Longtail Chief Pilot Andy Wyatt, at age 21, strapped to a ‘virtual’ rocket to intercept an intruding Russian aircraft at the height of the Cold War. "It was an incredible machine," Andy remembers, "designed and built in the late 1950s and flew until 1988. I flew one as high as 75,000’ and as fast as Mach 2.2."

"It was my first front line aircraft and a real learning curve that’s for sure! Landing speed was 175kts."

Captain Wyatt went on to become a Red Arrow, then joined British Airways, and now leads Longtail's Boeing 747 flight operation as Chief Pilot.
