Barbara Rachko - Master Pastel Artist, Blogger, and Author master pastel artist, author, and blogger, didn't just witness the Carnaval de Oruro. She let it move through her, and turned what she saw into an entirely new collection of work.
When Barbara arrived in Bolivia, our founder Janette became her host, not just through the streets of Santa Cruz, Oruro, La Paz and Uyuni but through the soul of one of the most powerful cultural celebrations in the world.

Together they moved through the crowds, the masks, the rituals, the devotion. And what Barbara witnessed, she transformed into an entirely new collection in pastel.

Magical nights at the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia 🌠 with Bolivia Milenaria

The giant mirror created by the flooded salt flats becomes even more magical at night when you can see the stars reflected on the floor. It is the closest we could come to feeling like you're in space - stars all around you, above and below.

So grateful to for organising such a perfect trip and getting us to the salt flats at night for some astrophotography and even getting us the telescope! If you want to plan the perfect trip in Bolivia, has the perfect team to do it for you!
