🌧️ Rainy day in Rio de Janeiro? No problem! 🇧🇷✨

Today we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful family from New York 🗽, and instead of letting the rain ruin the day, we discovered some amazing alternatives.

🌿 Our morning was spent in the beautiful Tijuca Forest, where we enjoyed breathtaking viewpoints, visited the stunning Taunay Waterfall 💦, explored the charming Baronesa Waterfall, and even discovered an incredible bat cave 🦇. The rainforest is even more magical on rainy days, with vibrant greenery, fresh air, and nature at its very best. 🍃💚

🏛️ In the afternoon, we explored Rio's historic downtown. Our guests enjoyed a delicious lunch at Lilia 🍽️, one of Rio's Michelin-recommended restaurants, before visiting the breathtaking Royal Portuguese Cabinet of Reading 📚, the beautiful São Francisco de Paula Church ⛪, the iconic Confeitaria Colombo ☕🍰, and finishing the day at the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro. 🙌

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely group of friends from India to Rio de Janeiro! 🇮🇳🇧🇷

On the first day of their private tour, we explored some of Rio's most iconic attractions, including Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Royal Portuguese Reading Room, Santa Teresa, and the colorful Selarón Steps.

Today, we were all set for a day trip to Ilha Grande, but due to the forecast of strong winds, we decided to adjust the itinerary. Since they wanted a beach day, we headed to two of Rio's most beautiful hidden beaches—Prainha and Grumari. We ended the day with a delicious seafood lunch at Mirante da Prainha, enjoying traditional Brazilian moqueca and shrimp empanadas with an incredible ocean view.

🚨 NEWS UPDATE | Christ the Redeemer 🇧🇷

If you're planning to visit Christ the Redeemer between August 2026 and May 2027, here's an important update.

🚧 From August 3, 2026, the monument will undergo a major modernization and accessibility project. During this period, the number of visitors allowed at the summit at the same time will be reduced by 50% (from approximately 1,300 to 650 people).

The improvements include:
✅ Replacement of the old escalators.
✅ Installation of two new panoramic inclined elevators.
✅ Better accessibility for all visitors.

🚆 The Corcovado Train, official Paineiras vans, and the hiking trail will continue operating, but with a limited number of tickets available each day.

🎟️ Our recommendation: Purchase your tickets well in advance to secure your preferred date and time and avoid disappointment.
