Boutique by Heart. Luxury with Soul.

At Travel Pioneers, luxury isn’t just about five-star labels — it’s about the rare feeling of arriving somewhere that truly feels like yours.
Yes, we work with well-known luxury brands, but where we really shine is in uncovering the exceptional — the villas tucked away, the art-filled lodges that don’t make the lists but stay with you for life.

We curate experiences where design meets intimacy, and every space tells a story.

Like Finca Rosa Blanca, a coffee estate retreat near San José with lush gardens and organic soul. Or Casa 41, a discreet luxury stay with just the right dose of elegance and Costa Rican warmth. In Medellín, Patio del Mundo offers a lush oasis in the middle of the city, where every suite is inspired by global travels, yet grounded in Colombian hospitality.

On the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, our barefoot luxury gem Hotel Aguas Claras in Puerto Viejo shines with bold tropical design and curated art in every corner — each room a different artistic universe. In Tortuguero, Tortuga Lodge welcomes guests with cozy rooms and the immersive soundtrack of the rainforest.

In Nosara, Senderos Hotel is an elegant jungle hideaway where contemporary design and nature coexist in perfect balance. Just minutes from the surf and golden beaches, it’s a peaceful sanctuary for those who appreciate thoughtful architecture, comfort, and the art of slowing down.

In Cartagena, we offer exclusive villas that echo centuries of history, where Spanish-colonial architecture and Moorish details blend in beautifully. Or, for classic refinement, stay at the iconic Sofitel Santa Clara, where heritage and modernity meet behind monastery walls.

This is the Travel Pioneers way.
We believe in living slowly, in finding beauty off the beaten path, in places that feel intimate yet inspiring.
Our journeys are tailor-made, for travelers who don’t just want to see a destination — they want to feel it.

We design with intention, always grounded in our Crowd Avoidance Philosophy — small-scale, deeply personal, and respectfully connected to place and people.

Costa Rica’s Blue Zone of Wellbeing

In Nicoya, wellbeing isn’t a trend, it’s a way of life. Fresh fish, active days, and a deep sense of happiness rooted in community are just some of the reasons why this region is recognized as one of the world’s Blue Zones.

Here, your days are shaped by nature: birdsong in the morning, ocean breezes whispering through the trees, and the joy of finding a hidden waterfall where you can plunge into cool, crystal-clear waters. Some might call it simple, yet it’s everything you truly need.

Our will design the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and rest so you can live and breathe the peaceful rhythm of the Nicoyanos. You’ll explore, taste, challenge yourself—and also find the kind of soulful retreat that stays with you long after the trip ends.

Come slow down. Come feel good.

Following the Coastline, the Slow Way 🌴

Hola ,

We meant it when we said is the way to explore the Osa Peninsula. But it’s not just the Osa. The Nicoya Peninsula, the southern Caribbean coast, and much of Costa Rica’s shoreline call for the same rhythm: slow, curious, and intentional.

These are places where time stretches out—and it’s worth letting it. Here, nature isn’t something you go see; it surrounds you, shapes your day, and invites you to stay present.

One of the first things you’ll notice? The rainforest reaches right down to the sand. Massive almond trees and coconut palms offer fresh shade steps from the shore. Scarlet macaws soar overhead. Monkeys peek from the canopy. And if you’re lucky, a sloth will be napping just a few meters from the waves. It’s wild—in every sense.

Another beautiful thing about Costa Rica’s coastline? Every single beach is public. Whether you’re barefoot in a hidden Nicoya cove or joining a family at sunrise in Puerto Viejo, the coast is open to all. It belongs to everyone.

And the Ticos… we’re absolutely in love with going to the beach. For us, the ocean is a weekend ritual, a midday pause, a family reunion. It’s where we go to relax, reconnect, and celebrate.

So take your shoes off, grab a p**a fría, and don’t rush. There’s something about the coast here that’s meant to be discovered slowly.

Follow our and Costa Rica’s southern coastline to the Golfo Dulce and into the wild heart of the Osa Peninsula where calm waters welcome visiting humpback whales, wildlife encounters mark the rhythm of each day, and every moment feels deeply personal.

Here, travel slows down and that’s exactly why we often design journeys that stay exclusively in and around Osa. No rushing. Just immersion.

Wake up at the iconic Lapa Rios Lodge, where luxury is defined by deep connection to the forest, and your morning begins with the calls of howler monkeys echoing through the trees.

Then cross to the peninsula’s other coast and discover one of Costa Rica’s true coastal jewels: Drake Bay.
From here, snorkel or dive the turquoise waters of Caño Island, one of the country’s top marine reserves.
Think manta rays, sea turtles, and vibrant reefs — just a short boat ride from your jungle lodge.

🌿 In between, take the lesser-known inland road.

Visit the archaeological sites of Finca 6 and Batambal, where ancient stone spheres still rest in the earth, quietly holding the mystery and history of the Diquís Valley.

🌀 Meet the Boruca and Ngöbe communities — keepers of tradition who welcome you into their world through vivid masks, plant-based dyes, and stories passed through generations.
Taste locally grown chocolate, harvested and crafted by hand.
Walk forest paths with local guides who don’t just point things out — they interpret the land with heart and precision.

This is the Osa Peninsula — curated slowly, lived deeply, and crafted with care.

We work with the best guides in each region
storytellers of nature and culture, people who turn every step into a connection.
You’ll walk quiet trails in misty forests, guided by locals who bring the land to life interpreting the sounds of the wild, the stories behind the landscape, and the culture woven into everyday life.

Continuing our journey through Nicaragua’s luxury, we find an exceptional example in the sustainable experience of Jicaro Lodge.

We love the minimalistic, raw, and light-designed casitas that blend seamlessly with the island’s natural surroundings. Here it’s not about having a lot—it’s about the location and the excellence of the service, where you can peacefully rest and truly connect.

Experience the quiet elegance of staying right in one of Central America’s most breathtaking natural wonders—Lake Nicaragua.

Here, luxuryis not efined by opulence, but by a deep respect for the environment and the rare chance to immerse yourself in the vastness and calm of the lake. Imagine waking up in a simple yet thoughtfully designed casita, where large windows frame the shimmering water and lush greenery. The gentle sounds of the lake become your daily soundtrack, creating a profound sense of peace and calm. Casitas are designed to let you feel the smells and the breeze. Giving nature all the of your attention.

Jicaro is the perfect choice for people looking for a peaceful place with the choice of doing—or not doing—much; nature lovers and photographers will appreciate the many dramatic sunsets and sunrises, volcanoes, and wildlife. This boutique property combines thoughtful comfort with eco-conscious principles.

Here, the gastronomic offerings are made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients—provide a genuine taste of Nicaragua. Expect rich flavors from ingredients like plantains, yuca, fresh-caught fish, tropical fruits, cacao, and locally grown herbs. The cuisine is vibrant yet comforting, with every bite reflecting the land’s abundance and deep-rooted culinary traditions.

Waking up in Granada is like stepping back in time.

You will hear birdsong before anything else in the city. Then the quiet clip-clop of a horse-drawn cart on cobbled streets, the scent of fresh coffee wafting in through your window, and the soft breeze from Lake Nicaragua gently rolling through the open doors of your colonial suite.

This is Granada, Nicaragua, one of Central America's largest and most enchanting colonial cities, and a place we at Travel Pioneers know intimately.

We have walked these streets, lingered in its sun-drenched courtyards, and handpicked a curated collection of luxury hotels and private estates that reflect the soul of the city. One gem we absolutely recommend is Tribal Hotel, a boutique property that perfectly blends comfort and tranquility.

With its cozy tropical indoor patio and refreshing pool, Tribal Hotel offers a serene retreat just a short stroll from the city center, close enough to explore with ease, but far enough to escape the crowds. Here, you can relax surrounded by lush greenery and enjoy the gentle rhythms of Granada without the bustle.

Whether you're sipping cocktails on a tiled veranda or exploring pastel-colored facades and quiet plazas, Granada’s easygoing rhythm—kept alive by friendly locals and thoughtful visitors—offers a rare kind of authenticity. It’s a place where time slows down just enough to notice the beauty in everything.

Let us guide you to the very best of it.

Hola

This week we’re talking about Nicaragua.

And to understand a country like this, you have to start with where Nicaraguans come from — the land, the rhythms of everyday life, and the deep connection to long-held traditions.

Food is a big part of that story. It’s not rushed, not complicated — but it’s full of care. Corn is still planted by hand, ground early in the morning, and turned into meals that have been shared around family tables for generations.

Some of our favorite dishes to begin discovering the flavors of Nicaragua:
The nacatamal, more than a meal, it’s wrapped with stories, cooked slowly, and shared regularly on Sundays.
The tamal de maíz — soft, simple, and comforting in its honesty.
And the rosquillas, baked in small-town ovens and best enjoyed with coffee and good company.

This is real Nicaraguan food.
Grown with patience. Prepared with love. Rooted in place.

✨ Costa Rica through your eyes ✨ we are extremely grateful for your comments and sharing your experience with us.

“Travel Pioneers organised our trip to Costa Rica. We travelled from San Jose to Tortuguero, then to La Fortuna and Monteverde before spending the last five nights in Nosara. The hotels they selected were in great locations with very comfortable rooms. The tours were all good and more than met our expectations of experiencing the rain forest, volcanoes and beaches. The transfers between locations went like clockwork and the drivers were all good and introduced us to many different and interesting things along the way. This included food stops in great locations with bird sightings, and Spanish lessons the karaoke way in the vehicle - extra and unexpected happy memories that will stay with us for a long time. Pura vida!”
