Today we celebrate the Dia Nacional da Mata Atlântica — the National Atlantic Forest Day in Brasil. 🇧🇷

This is one of the most biodiverse forests on the planet, home to an extraordinary number of species, many of which are found nowhere else. But this is also a biome that has been deeply shaped by centuries of human presence — its history is intertwined with the very history of Brasil itself.

🍃 According to National Geographic Brasil and MapBiomas, only around 24% of the original forest cover remains today — a consequence of centuries of land use and rapid urbanisation along the coast. On the other hand, the Atlantic Forest is also a territory of resilience: there are more than 700 protected areas across federal, state, municipal, and private levels working to safeguard its future.

At Gondwana Brasil, we believe that tourism can — and must — be part of the solution. A powerful tool for raising awareness, fostering connection, and supporting conservation on the ground.

There’s no better way to truly promote Brazil than by experiencing it for yourself, right?

🌎 With that in mind, from 7 to 13 April, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group from the Netherlands for a organised in partnership with Latin Travel (). The itinerary offered an authentic Brazilian experience, with stops in Rio de Janeiro, Paraty and Salvador.

"What a beautiful, wonderful and such a nice trip we had. We are all in love with the parts of Brasil we saw. There are no words to explain all we saw and experience. Many thanks to you and the Gondwana team. I am very grateful to have this opportunity with this nice group of Travelagents. Thank you so much!
