Ô minha gente, Olinda é a terra do frevo, e o frevo é um ritmo musical e uma dança brasileira com origem no estado de Pernambuco. Sua história remonta desde o fim do século XIX e sua música baseia-se na fusão de gêneros como marcha, maxixe, dobrado e polca, e sua dança foi influenciada pela capoeira.Foi tombada como Patrimônio Histórico Imaterial da Humanidade pela Unesco, em 2012.
Olinda is the land of frevo, and frevo is a musical rhythm and a Brazilian dance originating in the state of Pernambuco. Its history dates back to the end of the 19th century and its music is based on the fusion of genres such as march, maxixe, dub and polka, and its was influenced by capoeira. It was listed as an Intangible Historical Heritage of Humanity by Unesco in 2012.
