[EN] Did you know Brazil celebrates its Independence Day today?

On September 7, 1822, Brazil formally broke away from Portuguese rule and began writing its own history as an independent country.

For travelers, this date is a nice reminder of just how much Brazil holds within its borders. From one region to another, the culture shifts, the food changes, the accents sound different, and the landscapes seem to belong to entirely different countries.

There’s always another side of Brazil to discover.

Come experience it with us.

[EN] Today is Amazon Day!

Did you know the Amazon is home to the greatest biodiversity on the planet?

Travel through this part of Brazil and you’ll quickly understand why the forest feels so extraordinary.

But the Amazon is much more than a beautiful place to visit. It holds an enormous share of the world’s freshwater, helps regulate the global climate and is home to traditional communities whose knowledge and ways of life have developed through a close relationship with the forest over generations.

At Brazil Green Travel, we prioritize people and businesses that respect the environment. We believe tourism should keep more of its benefits within the region while giving travelers a way to experience the destination with greater awareness and care.

[EN] Rio Carnival sales are open, and if experiencing Carnival in Brazil is on your wish list, now is a good time to start planning. Booking early means more choice when it comes to hotels, Sambadrome tickets, and the experience you want to have in Rio.

So, where do you want to watch the parade?

If you want to be close to the action, frisas put you right at track level, with the floats, costumes, and performers passing just a few metres away. Prefer the energy of the grandstands with an assigned place waiting for you? Sector 9 offers numbered seating, so you know exactly where you’ll be watching from. And if you’d like hospitality services alongside the parade, camarotes give you access to dedicated areas with additional amenities throughout the evening.

Then there’s the rest of Rio during Carnival week. The city moves to a different rhythm. Blocos fill the streets, road closures change the way you get around, and many hotels require minimum stays. Planning ahead makes all the difference.

That’s where we come in. We’ll help you choose the hotel and Sambadrome option that feel right for your trip, arrange your transfers, and add the experiences you want to enjoy while you’re in Rio. We take care of the details so you can spend less time figuring out the logistics and more time looking forward to Carnival.

[EN] The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is marked every year on August 9. The date commemorates the first meeting of the United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Populations, held in Geneva on August 9, 1982.

Indigenous Peoples account for approximately 6% of the world’s population. Their knowledge and stewardship help care for many of Earth’s richest ecosystems. Some estimates associate their work with the protection of up to 80% of the planet’s remaining biodiversity.

It is also a moment to recognize the continued work of Indigenous Peoples as they defend their rights and seek the respect they deserve. Their efforts protect territories that support community life and cultural continuity while helping preserve the natural systems we all depend on.

We at Brazil Green Travel are committed to supporting Indigenous causes and promoting tourism that respects ancestral territories and their communities.

After more than 200 years, these iconic birds have returned to Tijuca National Park thanks to a carefully planned reintroduction program. Before being released, they spent seven months preparing for life in the wild through acclimatization, flight training, health monitoring, and a gradual food transition.

Led by Refauna, with support from ICMBio and partners, the project helps restore the species to the Atlantic Forest while strengthening one of Brazil’s most important ecosystems.

[EN] Have you ever dreamed of visiting a place that feels almost untouched?

Here are five reasons to include Fernando de Noronha in your Brazil trip:

Baía do Sancho is repeatedly ranked among the world’s best beaches, with turquoise waters and access through volcanic rock cliffs that naturally limit the crowds.

The island offers some of Brazil’s best underwater experiences, with warm waters, impressive visibility, reef life, drop-offs, and historic shipwrecks.

It is also a protected wildlife sanctuary, home to spinner dolphins, sea turtles, seabirds, and endemic species living in their natural habitat.

The food scene brings together fresh seafood and Northeastern Brazilian flavors, including ingredients like tapioca and coalho cheese.

And at the end of the day, Noronha gives you something rare in Brazil: sunsets over the open ocean.

Native to the Amazon, açaí has been part of local life for generations. In Northern Brazil, it is traditionally served fresh, unsweetened, and paired with dishes like fried fish or shrimp. In other parts of the country, you’ll also find the sweeter version blended with guaraná syrup and topped with fruit, granola, or other local favorites.
If you love discovering a destination through its food, tasting these different versions of açaí is a simple way to experience the diversity of Brazil, one spoonful at a time.
