THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT NEW RULES & FEES FOR BAHAMAS BOATING ALREADY IN EFFECT AS OF JULY 1, 2025! Cruising permit rules and fees, fishing permit rules & Fees, and more have changed! Also, new anchoring fees and more, including fines, are also now in effect! Our good friends at the Association of Bahamas Marinas have posted the following updates, which came into effect very quickly July 1.

Important! New Bahamas fee to extend your stay. All Bahamas visitors get a length of stay. It will be noted in your passport (separate from the cruising permit for your boat). When your length of stay expires, you must apply for an extension, and also pay a new fee of $200 per person.
When you first check in, please specifically request your intended length of stay (30 or 90 days or more, for example), to avoid having your length of stay expire before your planned trip will end. Be prepared to support your initial length of stay request with most of the same information required for an extension of your length of stay (below). The length of stay is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer.
