STAR Island is a private destination using off-grid technology to power the entire island. We offer desirable and unique experiences to visitors, while caring for the environment and educating people about real possibilities in sustainable development. STAR Island is a working prototype for sustainable development, consistently documenting and improving practices learned on site. Visitors will have first-hand opportunities to see clean energy systems in use and learn about how they work. With solar, wind and hydro systems in place, the project delivers a true carbon-neutral operation.

STAR Island is beachfront off grid living at its finest :-) We offer day trips and overnight stays ($1500 for 2 people per night plus taxes). You can fly into North Eleuthera airport, then we pick you up by boat and it’s a short 15 minute ride to our island. Paradise is calling ☀️🌴🌊🍹

David Sklar, Architect/Builder and Founder of STAR Island, designed his 35 acre private island to be completely OFF GRID (solar panels backed up by batteries, catching his own rain water and purifying and is growing an organic garden). He is one of few people in the world that has managed to COMPLETE such an incredible project. I have stayed on his island (which is open for short term rentals at $1500 per night and day trips) and was SO impressed by what he has accomplished.

Due to the devastation in the Caribbean from Irma, there is a HUGE demand for off grid technologies, which is GREAT! YAY! David's vision has always been to share his knowledge of sustainable living with the world. If any home owners, resorts or private islands would like to become ECO friendly he would be happy to assist. He can consult, order and oversee the install of your off grid project making it as simple as possible and more affordable than you think. If anyone is interested his email is [email protected].

Harbour Island is one of the most special islands in the world. It has amazing restaurants, tons of activities & the prettiest beach in the world called Pink Sands. It's also fun to rent a golf cart and go explore the island, which is only 3.5 miles long x .5 miles wide. STAR Island is a short 10 minute boat ride from Harbour Island so a day trip here is an excellent idea! Our in-house concierge, Blue Sky Luxury Concierge, would be happy to help create this special day for you!

Evenings on STAR Island are so beautiful! There is usually a nice breeze, it's so quite & peaceful and you can't beat this view! We invite you to check out our eco private island experience through our day trips or overnight stays. Our nightly rate ranges from $1500-$1750 per night for 2 people.

The US Virgin Islands were devastated again (twice in 2 weeks) by category 5 hurricanes. We feel the need to help our island friends as much as possible. If anyone can donate funds to help them its much appreciated. Unfortunately they have a long road ahead of them. Below are the 2 funds we support. They are completely legit and 100% of the funds go directly to St. John and St. Thomas USVI. Attached are pictures of what has happened to the US Virgin Islands 😓💔

Our prayers are with our island friends in the Caribbean. Hurricane Maria is hitting the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico again as a category 5 😓 We are boarded up and hoping we are spared 🙏🏻
