Today, travel doesn’t feel very important.
As someone who helps people plan vacations, cruises and adventures around the world, it feels strange to talk about travel on a day like today.
September 11 reminds us how quickly life can change. Twenty-five years ago, 2,977 people left home that morning expecting to return to their families, their jobs, their friends and their everyday lives.
They never made it home.
Today isn’t about destinations, cruise ships or vacation deals. It’s about remembering those who were lost, honoring the families who continue to carry that loss, and recognizing the incredible courage of the first responders and ordinary people who stepped up when their country needed them most.
But perhaps there is something fitting about what travel represents.
Life is short. Make the memories. Hug your family a little tighter. Take the trip you’ve been putting off. See the places you’ve dreamed about seeing. Spend time with the people who matter most.
The freedom to live, explore, gather with loved ones and experience this incredible world is something worth appreciating.
Today, we pause.
We remember.
We honor.
