Meet the Grande Sicilia 🚢

She’s Pure Car & Truck Carrier and unlike standard cargo ships that use cranes to lift containers down into open holds, PCTCs use heavy-duty angled ramps (visible on the starboard stern) so entire vehicle fleets can roll on and roll off under their own power.

These ships carry massive internal volume above the waterline, requiring precise ballasting and careful handling at anchorage.

The Elnet team was on-site in Freeport overseeing delivery of bunkers and full husbandry services before she gets rolling again.

A cold front is moving into the Northwest Bahamas tonight and should be near the Berry Islands by early Sunday.

Expect heavy showers, strong thunderstorms and possible waterspouts. Winds will pick up to 18–28 knots from the north-northeast, with gale-force gusts between Grand Bahama and the Berry Islands. Seas will build to 3–7 ft, and up to 9 ft in the Gulf Stream.
