The Royal Government has announced a special national holiday on November 12th, 13th, and 14th to commemorate His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s 70th Birth Anniversary and to honor the sacred Kalachakra Empowerment being held as part of the ongoing Global Peace Prayer Festival at Changlimithang.

The Kalachakra Empowerment-an exceptionally profound and rare spiritual event- offers Bhutanese citizens a meaningful opportunity to engage in prayers, reflection, and collective aspirations for His Majesty The Fourth King’s long life and for global peace.

To ensure broad participation, the empowerment will be broadcast live on television and online platforms, enabling Bhutanese across the country and abroad, as well as international viewers, to join in through prayer and contemplation.

While the holiday will be observed nationwide, the government has emphasized that essential and critical public services will remain operational to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.

This declaration, issued in reverence and celebration of the auspicious occasion, reflects the nation’s deep gratitude and devotion to His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo. Ttaksa tours and travel Joins to Celebrate this joyful occasion.

Today, November 4th, His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and members of the Royal Family inspired hope and unity as they graced the opening of the Global Peace Prayer at Thimphu Changlimithang. Led by His Holiness the Je Khenpo, an unprecedented number of devotees from all corners of Bhutan and abroad came together in a powerful display of collective aspiration for global peace and happiness. This remarkable gathering, hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan in partnership with the Central Monastic Body, embodies the country's profound commitment to Buddhist values and its role as a beacon of peace and harmony. Simultaneous prayers at Kuenselphodrang, where the Central Monastic Body has commenced the Jabshi Gyap rituals, further amplify this resounding call for peace and well-being.
