The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment shared that by December this year, a time-bound Prime Minister-led Tourism Board will be established, to address all cross-sectorial issues affecting the tourism industry, with 13 rounds of meetings planned for 2026.
The board will directly address and understand the challenges faced by the tourism sector, including issues related to services, tour guides, and operators.
As of October this year, Bhutan has recorded 161,000 tourist arrivals.
The Minister added that the government is actively investing in tourism promotion and marketing, which includes participation in major international tourism fairs, creation of digital content, and organizing familiarization tours to promote the eastern regions of the country.
