Punakha Domchey (or Dromchoe).

Punakha Domchey is a significant three-day festival held annually at the majestic Punakha Dzong. Unlike other religious festivals focused solely on masked dances, it features a dramatic theatrical reenactment of a 17th-century battle.

Led by Pazaps (local warriors), the event commemorates the victory of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel over invading Tibetan forces.

A highlight is the Norbu Chushani, where the Zhabdrung famously deceived invaders by appearing to throw a sacred relic into the Mo Chhu River.

In 2026, the festival was observed from February 24 to 26, showcasing Bhutan’s rich military history and spiritual resilience.

Our guest Mrs. EKATERINA SVERDLOVA and her daughter visited the country to see Punakha Dromche and they love the religious festival with colorful dances.

From 29th March -2nd April 2026 we have Paro Tshechu, similar to Punakha Dromche is coming. Interested guests may contact us: WhatsApp + 97517755898.

We organize tour for our guest as short as Two Nights and Three Days(2N3D).

Mr. Aleksei and Mr. Dmitrii is here in Bhutan from 23rd February- 25th February 2026. Tomorrow 7:10 AM they will be flying back to Katmandu.

In just two days, you can experience the spiritual heart and iconic heights of Bhutan. On your first day in Thimphu, the world's only capital without traffic lights, visit the Buddha Dordenma, a massive golden statue overlooking the valley. Explore the National Memorial Chorten, where locals circumambulate in prayer, and the Tashichho Dzong, a grand fortress housing the throne room.

Your second day is dedicated to the legendary Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang). Perched on a sheer cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, this monastery is Bhutan’s most famous landmark. The hike takes about 4 to 6 hours round-trip through beautiful pine forests adorned with prayer flags. You can stop halfway at a cafeteria for tea and a stunning view of the temple. The final climb involves crossing a bridge by a waterfall before entering the sacred, cliffside chambers.

To make the most of this short trip, start your hike early to avoid the midday sun and crowds. Remember that both the Dzongs and the monastery require modest dress (shoulders and knees covered), and photography is strictly prohibited inside temple interiors.

See you in Bhutan 🇧🇹.
Kadrinchey la (Thank you).
