If you ever come to Bhutan, you’ll see locals quietly walking around these chortens(stupas). Every round is a prayer—for those who fell in 2003, and for all sentient beings who lost their lives in battles across time and borders.

And if you come from a place touched by war, if you've lost someone and feel there's no space to grieve or honor them—this is that place. A place to remember. A place to pray. A place of peace that welcomes your sorrow and turns it into silent tribute.

Did you know one of the most beautiful things about Bhutan is how almost every child grows up turning a prayer wheel — without even knowing why?

In Bhutan, most children are raised by their grandparents. And almost every grandparent has a daily ritual: visiting a nearby temple and spinning the prayer wheel.

So naturally, the child follows. From a young age, they grow up turning the wheel, copying their elders, playing around it — without knowing its real meaning.

Later, when they grow older and start understanding what it truly symbolizes… they stop. Life gets busy. Priorities shift. And that once-familiar spin becomes a distant memory.
But then something beautiful happens.
When they grow old — just like their grandparents — they return. They visit the same temples, and they begin to turn the prayer wheel again…

This time, with meaning. With understanding. With peace. It’s like a full circle — childhood innocence, youthful distance, and finally, conscious connection.
