Shelkar Drak Cliff and Temple (unknown age)
Shelkar Drak temple is a small lhakhang or goemba clinging to the south face of Avalokiteshvara hill, one of the three sister hills of Haa district. It is built in such a way that, like the famous Taktsang temple of Paro, it appears to emerge organically from the cliffside, its features half-hidden, half exposed.

The name Shelkar Drak means white crystal crag, or more loosely, crystal cliff. While the term refers specifically to the cliffside, partly whitewashed by pilgrims, it also refers to the temple itself. Its age is unclear, though it served as a famous refuge for Choglay Jigme Tenzin (1919–1949), the sixth Sungtrul (speech incarnation) of modern Bhutan's founder, Zhabdrung Rinpoche. Here, the Sungtrul studied Buddhist philosophy, Ta***ic rituals, and various sutras under the watchful eye of his tutor, who was born at the nearby Takchu Goemba.

There is also an old jack fruit tree producing incredible products annually inside the temple premises. It is believed that the rich woman offered a jack fruit to Lam Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal where later the Lam planted its seed on the particular area with a future prophesies. As per the board pasted on the tree today, the rich woman was asked to nurture it properly and offer its fruits to the God, Ken-Cho-Sum in future. People say they had tried to transplant and grow several sapling of the jack fruit tree in other places, but all dried after growing up to a human level and never let it to grow successfully.

Nearby locals also say it produces ample yield annually and even began to offer its first fruits to Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, Punakha Machen Lhakhang and to the Royal Family since last year before they actually start harvesting the fruits. Today, the local government and the concerned management is looking some other feasibility to provide genuine protections to the tree for future preservation and development. Local leaders say they have a special order to preserve it and ensure the sustainability of this culture in future as well.

So on sunday we tashi jong neykorpa are lucky that we got solid jack fruit from lama around many neykorpa people and thank you so much that you all believe and trust us!.

Dechen Draphu Ney at Wangdi Phodrang

Dechen Draphu in Khothang at Wangdi is one of the four crags entrusted to Phajo Drugom Zhigpo by Guru Rinpoche in a visionary experience. Phajo Drugom Zhigpo, who visited Bhutan in the Water Male Horse Year of fourth Rabjung in keeping with the prophecy of Dragon Tsangpa Gyare, was living at Drakegang Cliff invited by the local deity Drakepa ,its locality owner. That time Phajo Drugom Zhigpo went to Taktshang Phalphug, escorted by the Dakinis and lived there. It was during that Guru Rinpoche appeared in a vision and entrusted twelve meditation places to Phajo Drugom Zhigpo.

The Lhodruk Chojung history which was written by late 69th Je khenpo Geshey Geden Rinchen mentions that this place is particularly sacred because Phajo Drugom Zhigpo saw the vision of the Mandala of eight precepts (bka' brgyad dkyil khor) while he was meditating at this place ; and it was also here that Phajo Drugom Zhigpo received an indication from intermediate space that his teachings will flourish in the southern direction when his rosary string broke and the rosary beads got scattered around. There is a newly built temple at this place.

The crag looks remarkable and its appears that there are several sacred sites in the vicinity of the rock-cavern ; however, with no written pilgrimage guide and with no one who can offer explanation, we could not record the sacred sites . To get to this supreme sacred place, situated at 2900 metres above sea level, you have to go from a place called Hangilo on the way from Gorgoen to Khothangkha . You can also go from Sha Ngarwang or from khothangkha Dolangdo.
