On 11 November 1955 our 4th monarch Jigme Singye Wangchuk, the father of Gross National Happiness was born at Dechencholing Place in Thimphu.This year people are celebrating his 60th birth aniverasary and the occasion is marked with abundance of love and reverence by the people throughout the nation because k4 has won the special place in the heart of people through his devotion and loyality services towards the nation building during his reign.Therefore k4's birthday is held with high esteem & is important public holiday in Bhutan.

Blessed Rainy Day is the begging of harvesting season and marking the end of monsoon season in Bhutan, therefore the day begin with an early morning bath, followed by a delicious porridge, Suja , Rice and varieties of curries, and having filled the stomach, men would set out with the Bow and Arrows, while ladies gather together to share the moments of joy with the fellow neighbors.
