The hike starts from Semtokha Dzong you can reach the monastery in 2 hours on foot. The clear trail to the left should take you to Talakha Goenba. If you go in car via chamgang you can reach there in about 30 minutes.

Druk Wangditse Lhakang hike begins from the BBS (Bhutan Broadcasting Service) tower. The route passes a mass of prayer flags and a small farm before descending along a small forest path to reach there. From here the level path takes you full circle and affords breathtaking views of the valley. The view is just amazing that you might get lost in your thoughts for a while.

The Jakar Dzong or the “Castle of the White Bird” dominates the Chamkhar valley and overlooks the town. Constructed in 1549, by the Tibetan Lam Nagi Wangchuk, the Dzong played an important role as the fortress of defence of the whole eastern Dzongkhags. It also became the seat of the first king of Bhutan.
