Phobjikha is a bowl-shaped glacial valley on the western slopes of the Black Mountain, bordering the Jigme Singye Wangchuk National park. The large flocks of black- necked cranes that winters here, it is one of the most important wild life preserves in the country. The valley itself is marshy. The region is also known as Gangtey as it comes from the one of the famous monastery which sits on the ridge above the valley, known as Gangtey Goemba.

Punakha:- Punakha lies in a sultry , fertile and beautiful valley at the junction of the Mo chhu( Mother River) and Pho chhu ( Father River ). The elevation of Punakha valley is approximately 1250 meters from the sea level and it used to be the old capital of Bhutan , but the monastic body still use Punakha as the winter capital. Punakha Dzong is one of the impressive Dzong in Bhutan in terms of architecture and its location,and also known as the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan .
