It was a true pleasure to host Mr. Bhardwaj and his beloved wife in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

We had the privilege of crafting a bespoke Himalayan luxury escape designed around their interests, and we are delighted that they thoroughly enjoyed both the journey and the warm Bhutanese hospitality extended by our entire team.

Among the many beautiful destinations they explored, the serene valley of Phobjikha held a special place in their hearts, although they spoke fondly of every destination along the way. Knowing that they appreciated the thoughtfully curated itinerary, seamless logistics, and attentive on-the-ground support from our team is incredibly rewarding.

We sincerely thank Mr. Bhardwaj and his wife for choosing Bhutan and for placing their trust in Lucky Dragon Tours & Treks. It was an honor to be part of their Himalayan journey.

It was a true pleasure arranging this Himalayan journey for Amanda, Maddie & Evan.

Their adventure began in Nepal with the breathtaking Mardi Himal Trek, where every step brought them closer to the majestic peaks of the Himalayas. From there, they crossed into Bhutan and experienced a completely different side of the mountains — a land of peaceful monasteries, ancient traditions, and serene valleys.

One of the highlights of their journey was the beautiful Gangtey Valley, which captured their hearts with its untouched landscapes and tranquil atmosphere.

Bhutan’s national dress — the Gho for men and the Kira for women — is not just clothing, it is a living expression of identity, pride, and tradition.

Worn daily across the kingdom, from morning until the end of the working day, these garments are a beautiful reflection of Bhutanese values. Whether stepping into government offices, schools, majestic dzongs, or sacred temples, wearing the national dress is a sign of deep respect for culture and heritage.

🧍‍♂️ The Gho (Men)
A knee-length robe tied at the waist with a belt known as kera, the Gho is both practical and elegant.

• Paired with long socks and formal shoes
• Features a unique pouch-like fold called hemchu, often used to carry small personal items
• For formal occasions, a white scarf known as kabney is draped over the shoulder, symbolizing rank and honor
• Designed perfectly for Bhutan’s mountainous terrain and climate

Graceful and timeless, the Kira is a full-length, ankle-length dress crafted from a single rectangular piece of fabric.

• Worn with a blouse (wonju) and a short jacket (tego)

• Completed with a silk scarf called rachu during formal occasions
• Often handwoven with intricate patterns, reflecting Bhutan’s rich textile artistry
