In Takila, Lhuentse, overlooking Tangmachu village, there is a 154-foot bronze statue of Guru Padma Sambhava, also called Guru Nangsa Zelnen. It is surrounded by eight large chortens and 108 smaller ones. The site is a place for monks and nuns to study and also houses the elderly. The statue was built to encourage peace and harmony and is a short drive from Thinleypang/Tagmochu Chakzam.
