The Haa Spring Festival, now in its reimagined spring iteration, invites you to experience the vibrant traditions and pristine landscapes of Bhutan’s Haa Valley. Held annually in April, this three-day celebration showcases the region’s nomadic heritage through cultural performances, traditional sports, and exhibitions of local craftsmanship, delectable cuisine, while highlighting the valley’s unique biodiversity and seasonal blooms.

This year’s theme underscores the interplay between preserving Haa’s rich cultural identity—including mask dances, archery competitions, and artisanal demonstrations—and fostering sustainable development through eco-conscious tourism and community-driven initiatives. Visitors will engage with regional cuisine, witness yak herding traditions, and explore the valley’s untouched natural beauty, now enhanced by spring’s floral abundance.

Join us in celebrating Haa’s resilience and beauty while supporting local livelihoods through sustainable practices.

It commemorates the descent of Lord Buddha from Tush*ta heaven after giving teachings to his mother for 3 months. This event is celebrated on the 22nd day of the ninth month of the Lunar calendar, which usually falls in November on the Gregorian calendar.
