Taktshang monastery in Paro, built in 1692 into a cliff face around a cave where Guru Rinpoche is believed to have meditated after subduing a demon in the 8th century. Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress from Tibet. Later on this place came to be known as "Tiger's Nest", a pilgrims bliss and a hiker's delight. A trip to Bhutan is complete only when one climbs Taktshang!
