Zero Waste Hour is a national initiative aimed at addressing waste management challenges. It encourages government offices, corporate bodies, private organizations, civil society organizations, and individuals from all walks of life to dedicate just one hour toward raising awareness on waste reduction and educating communities about sustainability and its importance.

This initiative is observed on the second day of every month. By dedicating one hour, participants contribute to reducing waste while inspiring others to take collective action toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

GAB remains steadfast in its commitment to environmental stewardship and will continue organizing such initiatives to help ensure a sustainable and thriving Bhutan for generations to come.

Alongside this meaningful initiative, we also pay our deepest respect and gratitude to all teachers for their invaluable service to society.

ZERO WASTE HOUR (the start of 2026)

The start of this Year is quite incredible. Act of keeping our society little cleaner than yesterday is every citizenโ€™s responsibility.
And it should be kept this way.
Straight and simple.

Our waste enthusiasts headed toward the Takin Trail in Motithang, in observing the zero waste hour for the first month of 2026. We cleared the whole stretch of the brook covered with debris and shredded leaves and dried branches making the trail ready for hikers.

GAB would like to extend our heartiest gratitude to all stakeholders, partners and especially all the volunteers who have shown up for todayโ€™s programme. The programme was coordinated by the Chairman along with board directors and other waste enthusiasts.
