Wildlife Tuesday

An afternoon at Polentswa Waterhole often rewards guests with sightings like this—Springbok and Gemsbok sharing the same water source in the heart of the Kgalagadi.

Did you know? 👇

Springbok are famous for a unique behaviour called pronking—leaping high into the air with all four feet off the ground. This impressive display is believed to signal to predators that they are strong, fit and not worth chasing.

Gemsbok (Oryx) are among the toughest antelope in Africa. They are specially adapted to survive the harsh Kgalagadi climate, requiring very little water and obtaining much of their moisture from the plants they eat.
