A cheetah targeted a young tsessebe calf, but the mother's courage changed the outcome. She successfully rescued her baby from the fastest land predator. Cheetahs may be incredibly fast, but they are not the strongest of Africa's top predators. They hunt mostly during the day to avoid competition and rarely take unnecessary risks because an injury could mean the difference between life and death.
